Translating Into Three Languages—In What Order?

We talked about translation processes in Translation Workflows Have Clear Tasks and Owners. But what if we want to translation into three languages?

First of all we have to decide whether we want all translations done simultaneously or sequentially. If we are talking about translating an English document into three languages (e.g., Japanese, Spanish and Chinese) there should be no problem running all translation tasks simultaneously.

On the other hand, if you want to, say, translate Japanese into English, Spanish and German, this may require a different approach. It may be more realistic to first translate the Japanese to English, then use the English draft for the Spanish and German translations.

For this case, use the regular translation workflow we introduced in Translation Workflows Have Clear Tasks and Owners for the first half (Ja-En), and a simultaneous workflow for the second half (En-Es, En-De).
